Comment : Beautiful example of grandidierite. Of a good size and a pretty intense color, it will make a beautiful collector's item or a beautiful original piece of jewelry.

Extremely rare in transparent gem quality, and when this is the case, they rarely exceed one carat. At that point, prices soar to several thousand euros per carat. It's a shame, because it's a very pretty gem that is hard enough to be worked into jewelry.

In the meantime, ordinary people are content with translucent varieties, which remain very pretty, but still command high prices for translucent stones.
