Dimensions (mm) : 8.37x6.5x4.3

Color : Yellow/Champagne in daylight (photos). Some pink reflections in certain parts of the stone under incandescent light.

Clarity : Clean to the eye. Some small inclusions visible under a magnifying glass.

Hardness : 6.5-7/10 (Mohs scale). Possible use in jewelry but must be fitted by an experienced setter. It has poor shock resistance.

Treatment : None. Diaspores are generally not treated

Origin : Turkey

Comment : Fairly rare stone to have in any good collection. It has poor impact resistance and is therefore fragile even if it has correct hardness.

It has a very strong birefringence, which gives this cloudy appearance in photos with high magnification. It doesn't do it to the naked eye.
