Weight : 3.38 carats
Shape : Pear
Dimensions (mm) : 13.82x7.655.11
Color : Lagoon Blue
Clarity : Eye-clean. A few tiny colorless inclusions visible under a 10x magnifying glass.
Hardness : 5 ( Mohs scale) .
Treatment : Heated. Stable and permanent treatment. Very common for apatites of this color from Madagascar but not systematic. Since apatite is very fragile, the heating temperature is not very high (350 to 500°C) because it can break during heating.
Origin : Madagascar
Comment : Very beautiful stone with very good clarity and a magnificent blue, often compared to the blue of Paraíba tourmalines. Stones of this quality are rare in this size.
The supplier was unable to tell me if it had been heated. I seem to see a tiny sign of it, so I'm considering it as such.
Perfect for a beautiful piece of jewelry. As the stone is very soft, have it set by an experienced professional.
Price per carat : €50
