Variety of feldspar with shades varying from red to orange and yellow. Reds, being the rarest and most sought after, can see their prices soar, especially for examples of a homogeneous red of jewelry quality. However, in recent years, the majority of red andesines have been obtained by copper diffusion treatment, producing stones with a homogeneous color or zonations. If the latter are easily recognizable, it is different for homogeneous stones. In this case, laboratory expertise is often necessary, but this treatment is rarely reported.
